I have my doubts but at the same time deep down must believe because I've always had a conscience.

And lately I have felt someone is watching me from above , just a lot of weird coincidence if not.

I know everyone wants to know for sure, me as much as anyone.

The real question should be 'Would you live life differently if you KNEW for SURE there was or was not a God and how so?

I definately believe there is a God, or some sort of higher power. It's been proven to me in my own life and experiences

This pretty much sums up my feelings exactly.

I really HOPE there's a god...but I can't say I BELIEVE. Big difference, IMO.

What good does it do to "hope" there is a God if you don't believe in Him?

I think the question is how many of you have ever said, "God if I win this one I will never bet again".

Somebody. Step up to the plate and give a hardcore answer. So we can beat you like you stole something.

Well if you really want to know 'is there a god?' think of 5 really screwed up things and try to explain them and you should arrive at a sensible conclusion.

Because if he does exist, I also hope he'd be understanding of why I didn't BELIEVE, as well as why others didn't...I'd think that if he exists, he'd be compassionate and reasonable, because there are many out there that have truly legitimate reasons not to believe in god. Maybe he wouldn't, who knows, but I'll take my chances.

You'd think that there would be some sort of afterlife though, right? I mean after your body stops functioning, does the thinking, critical mind stop functioning too? The personality and all that crap just ceases to exist?

That's one reason I hope for a god to exist: I'd like to think there's something after death of the body. Reincarnation, heaven, who knows.

Let me throw this example out there to see what kind of responses it gets:

Say you're an eskimo living in the most isolated part of Antarctica. The only people you ever see or communicate with for your entire life is your small eskimo community. The community doesn't believe in Christianity or god, and no missionary has ever visited this area. You've literally never heard of god or been taught anything about christianity or any other religion. You worship nature or some crap, something other than god, or maybe ntohing at all(it's irrelevant). So you've literally never had the chance to convert, nor a reason why you should believe in god.

When you die, if god exists, is he going to punish you for not believing in him? DOesn't catholicism dictate that the eskimos in this situation WILL NOT be allowed in heaven?

I don't believe in Pascal's wager...I don't think anyone's gonna be able to pull a fast one on him if, in fact, he does exist. I HOPE he's understanding and compassionate as to why I, as well as others, didn't believe in him. If he's not, oh well, I suppose I'll have to deal with the consequences. I'm ok with that. If he isn't understanding of my and others reasons, then he probably wasn't a god worth believing in in the first place.

If a man goes through his entire life without even encountering a believe in god, even walking by one on the street, and therefore doesn't believe in him...he's gonna be punished for that? If anyone answers yes to that, then I think your god is a prick.

Never mind starving children in Africa or 6 million Jews being exterminated by a madman. He was too busy guiding you not to steer your bicycle into traffic.

hahahahaha

Hilarious David Cross line from one of his stand-ups, talking about those "Footprints" posters, the one where the guy dies and goes to heaven and talks to Jesus, asks hims why during his toughest times in life, there was only one set of footprints. In actuality, Jesus tells him that it's because he carried him during those times. David Cross has a different version:

"Jesus, why, during my most difficult times, my worst trials and tribulations, was there only one set of footprints? What's up with that?"

"Well, my son, that was when I was helping the other six billion people people on Earth you selfish prick."
